New Gas Connections: Connect Your Home to the Gas Network
If you’re a homeowner with a new build or a property that isn’t yet connected to the gas network, this page covers everything you need to get connected – from checking availability to booking your installation.
Our team is on hand if it’s your first time setting up a gas connection, whether you apply online or give us a call.
How it works:
- Check your postcode for gas availability
- Request a quote
- Apply and pay online, or over the phone
- We arrange installation and keep you updated throughout
What’s included
Once you accept your quote, we’ll issue a Meter Point Reference Number (MPRN) for the property. You’ll need this to arrange your gas meter installation with your chosen energy supplier.
A new gas connection for a house or small business starts from £3,912 (plus VAT). The exact price depends on factors like the distance from the existing gas main and any groundworks needed, so your online quote will confirm the final figure for your address.
Once a payment is made, a standard connection typically takes 6-8 weeks to complete. We’ll always offer the earliest available date, and we’ll flag if local traffic management or highway restrictions in your area could extend this.
If you’re connecting a business premises, a new development, or several homes at once, the process and pricing work a little differently. Call our team or complete our application form and we’ll take it from there.
