Wales & West Utilities has completed essential gas pipe upgrade work in the Alverdiscott area a month ahead of schedule.
The £1.2 million work, which started at the end of March, was essential to keep the gas flowing to heat homes and power businesses in the area so that people are safe and warm for generations to come. It involved upgrading 11 kilometres of gas pipes from East The Water to Harracott.
In planning the work Wales & West Utilities worked closely with Devon County Council and affected landowners.
We’re delighted to have finished this upgrade scheme ahead of schedule and want to thank everyone who lives and works in the area for bearing with us while we worked hard to complete this essential work.
We know that working in areas like this is not ideal, but it really is essential.
While most of the gas network is underground and out of sight, it plays a central role in the daily lives of people across Alverdiscott and the surrounding areas. Whether it’s heating your home, making the family dinner or having a hot bath, we understand how important it is for your gas supply to be safe and reliable and there when you need it.
This work will not only keep the gas flowing safely and reliably today, it will also help make sure the gas network is fit for the future and can play its part in delivering reliable and affordable green energy.
