Wales & West Utilities is to start a six-week gas pipe upgrade scheme in Wrexham on 4 January.
The work, in the Grove Road area of the town, is essential to keep the gas flowing to heat homes and power businesses in the area so that people are safe and warm for generations to come. It will be complete by 12 February.
To plan the work and make sure disruption is kept to a minimum Wales & West Utilities has worked closely with Wrexham Council and it has been agreed that a one-way system will be in place along Grove Road throughout the scheme.
We know that working on roads like this is not ideal, but it really is essential to make sure we keep the gas flowing to homes and businesses in the area, and to make sure the gas network is fit for the future. We’ll be working as safely and as quickly as possible to make sure the work is completed in a timely fashion, while keeping inconvenience to a minimum for local people and road users.
Our engineers are following all hygiene and social distancing guidelines and we would respectfully ask that you keep a 2m distance if passing our work site.
To power a green recovery from coronavirus, we’ll be working hard to keep the gas flowing safely today and to prepare the gas network to transport green gases, like biomethane and hydrogen, so it can play its part delivering green, sustainable energy in the future.
Our Customer Service Team is ready to take your call if you have any questions about our work. You can contact them on freephone 0800 912 2999 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
