When the village hall in Rhosgadfan burnt down, the local community decided to step in and turn the unsightly area into a local community playground.
Many local businesses contributed time, resources and cash to help turn the site into a space that is suitable for children to play, including Wales & West Utilities.
When colleagues asked local manager Steve Watts if they could get involved by laying a safe, concrete area at the entrance to the playground, instead of the rough and muddy surface that existed, he was only too pleased to agree. Steve also attended the official opening of the playground to see the work his colleagues had done, and presented local children with Smell Gas information packs, so they know what to do if they smell gas at home or outside.
North Wales Performance Manager Steve Watts said: “We are delighted to have supported the efforts of the local community to turn the site of the old village hall into the Rhosgadfan Playground - it's now a great area for local children."
