Wales & West Utilities is to carry out essential gas works in the Kingshill Road area of Swindon.
The work, which runs from 17-21 February, is essential to keep the gas flowing to heat homes and power businesses and so local people are kept safe and warm for generations to come.
It has been agreed with Swindon Borough Council that traffic management will be in place during the week’s work. This involves a lane closure on the inbound lane of the Wootton Basset Road (A3102). The lane will be closed from the roundabout at Great Western Way to the junction of Kingshill Road (A4289). Clear signage will be in place and the area will be marshalled between 7am-7pm. Access will be maintained for people needing to travel to the junction of Redposts Drive and The Runner, as well as for those businesses located between Great Western Way and Redposts Drive. Ahead of the work Wales & West Utilities will be speaking to local residents and businesses affected by the plans.
We know that working on roads like this is not ideal, but it really is essential to make sure we keep the gas flowing to homes and businesses in the area, and to make sure the gas network is fit for the future. We’ll be working as safely and as quickly as possible to make sure the work is completed in a timely fashion, while keeping inconvenience to a minimum for local people and road users.
