Gas emergency and pipeline service Wales & West Utilities has completed essential works in the Castle Street area of Conwy in just four days, instead of the planned week.
The work, which is essential to keep the gas flowing to heat homes and power businesses in the area so that people are safe and warm for generations to come, was due to complete on Sunday 1 December but, thanks to hardworking engineers, traffic management was taken down on Friday (29 November).
In planning the work Wales & West Utilities liaised closely with Conwy County Borough Council and a traffic management plan, via the town’s one-way system, was in place.

“We know that working in areas like this is not ideal, but it really is essential.
“This work will not only keep the gas flowing safely and reliably today, it will also help make sure the gas network is fit for the future and can play its part in delivering reliable and affordable green energy.”
