A kind-hearted cat lover from Barry who is dedicated to make the lives of abandoned and unwanted felines better has received the support from her employer, Wales & West Utilities.
Daniela Rodrigues, 32, has been volunteering as a cat fosterer since November last year after seeing the numbers of cats needing a temporary home had increased dramatically during the pandemic. Now fostering her fifth cat, she not only provides a loving home, but also runs car boot sales most weekends to raise vital money for Cat Supporters South Wales – a rescue dedicated to fostering felines.
In support of her efforts Daniela’s employer gas emergency and pipeline service, Wales & West Utilities, has provided a £300 match-funding donation. The money will help fund vet bills and cat food.
Daniela explains:
The pandemic has sadly meant that the number of cats needing the support of our foster network has increased vastly. I get a great deal of pleasure from providing a safe and warm home for my feline friends but the cost of providing food, litter and tending to illness or injury quickly mounts up.
This money from my employer will go a long way to ensuring we are able to help more cats across the area.
Cat Supporters South Wales is a local cat rescue with a network of fosterers across South Wales. They take stray cats into care and rehome them to loving homes and are always looking for new fosterers and for help with fundraising and administration tasks.
The gas emergency and pipeline service for Wales and the south west of England provided the funding as part of its commitment to support the communities it serves.
