Wales & West Utilities has completed essential work to upgrade gas pipes in the Brixham area.

The £60,000 investment work involved upgrading nearly 500 metres of old metal pipes to new plastic ones in the Higher Rydons area of the town. It will make sure that local homes and businesses continue to receive a safe and reliable gas supply for years to come.

Ahead of the scheme Wales & West Utilities worked closely with Torbay Council to plan the work and keep disruption to a minimum.

Wales & West Utilities Programme Controller, Dominic Tester, managed the work and said:

“We’d like to thank the people of Brixham for their patience whilst we carried out this essential work.

“The work was important to keep the gas flowing to heat homes and power businesses in the area and to make sure the gas network is fit for the future.”

This summer Wales & West Utilities want your views on the future of your gas network and the services they provide.
