Upgrading the gas network in Weston Super Mare

The £630,000 investment work will begin on 16 October and, barring any engineering difficulties, it will finish during April next year. It is essential to keep the gas flowing safely to heat and power local homes and businesses.

As part of the work Wales & West Utilities has liaised with North Somerset Council and it has been agreed that traffic management will be in place throughout. This includes:

• Two-way traffic lights on Oldmixon Road from 16 October – 12 November.
• A road closure on Oldmixon Road between the junctions of Broadway and Church Lane from 13 – 24 November.

Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time.

We know that working in areas like this is not ideal, but it really is essential to make sure we keep the gas flowing to homes and businesses in the area, and to make sure the gas network is fit for the future.

This work is essential to upgrade part of the gas network in Weston Super Mare and we will work as quickly and as safely as possible to complete it, whilst keeping disruption to a minimum.
