Gresford gas works paused over Christmas period
Wales & West Utilities is progressing well with its work to upgrade the gas pipes in the Chester Road area of Gresford and is pausing work until the new year.
The investment work, which started in July, is essential to keep the gas flowing safely to heat and power local homes and businesses. Work has been put on hold between 20 December – 6 January. Barring any engineering difficulties, the wider scheme will finish in December 2025.
Wales & West Utilities has liaised with Wrexham County Borough Council to plan the work and traffic management will be required throughout.

While most of the gas network is underground and out of sight, it plays a central role in the daily lives of people across the wider Wrexham area.
