Wales & West Utilities will be working to repair a gas leak in the Rhiwbina area of Cardiff this Sunday (6 March).
As part of the work, it has been agreed with Cardiff Council that the junction of Northern Avenue and Pantmawr Road will be closed from approximately 8am.
Traffic travelling southbound will be able to access Pantmawr Road via the slip road, however a diversion via Coryton roundabout will be in place for all other traffic.
The work is essential to keep the gas flowing to heat and power local homes and businesses. The team of Wales & West Utilities engineers will be working as quickly and as safely as possible to complete the repair and remove traffic management, which is expected later on Sunday.
Wales & West Utilities Kevin Brown is managing this essential work and said:
We're really sorry for the disruption this emergency work may cause, and we appreciate the patience of local residents and road users while work is underway.
Our team of engineers will be working as quickly and as safely as possible to complete the work.
While most of the gas network is underground and out of sight, it plays a central role in the daily lives of people across Cardiff. Whether it’s heating your home, making the family dinner or having a hot bath, we understand how important it is for your gas supply to be safe and reliable and there when you need it.
