Wales & West Utilities is making good progress with work to upgrade the gas network in the Buckfastleigh area of Devon.
The work, which is due to be complete in October, is essential to keep the gas flowing safely and reliably to local homes and businesses, keeping people warm for generations to come.
As part of the next phase of work it has been agreed that Jordan Street will be closed to traffic. This closure will be in place from 5 September – 21 October and a diversion route along Barn Park, Wallaford Road, Duckspond Road, Bossell Road, New Road and Chapel Street will be clearly signposted. Motorists are advised to allow extra travelling time.

While most of the gas network is underground and out of sight, it plays a central role in the daily lives of people across Buckfastleigh. This work is essential to keep the gas flowing to local homes and businesses today, and to make sure the gas network is ready to transport hydrogen and biomethane, so we can all play our part in a green future.
