Matthew Davies

A bit about me

I joined Wales & West Utilities graduate programme in 2015 after completing my engineering degree with the Open University. I’m currently working on my Masters degree in Engineering.

Why a graduate programme?

It is a structured programme that enabled me to apply while awaiting my degree results. I was also really keen to progress to Chartered Engineer status and was pleased the programme offered this. 

Support and development

The support network is excellent and everyone is very helpful by giving advice and assistance where required. This includes my mentor, my manager and peers within the business wether they are others in the graduate programme, previous graduates or colleagues around the business.

What did you enjoy most about the graduate programme?

The freedom and responsibility that the role affords, as well as the further training and development opportunities.  

How has the programme helped your career?

The programme has given me structure and goals to make sure my development is continuous and sustained.
