A leading utility is seeking people from across Wales and the south West of England to apply for its coveted graduate programme.
Gas emergency and pipeline service Wales & West Utilities has announced its graduate programme is open and is urging young people from across the area to apply. New graduate recruits will be based in the company’s Newport headquarters in Wales.
The company’s two-year graduate programme is wide-ranging and focuses on the achievement of Chartered Engineer status via a series of engineering placements and a comprehensive graduate support network. Accredited by both the Institute of Gas Engineers and Managers (IGEM) and the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), the programme has been running for nine years.
Wales & West Utilities is looking for graduates who have (or expect to achieve) a bachelors or masters degree class of 2:2 or higher in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a degree course which is accredited by IMechE, IET or IGEM.
The graduate scheme has opened shortly after Wales & West Utilities announced its intention to recruit 23 new apprentices to work on its operations across Wales and the south west of England.
Since the company was set up in 2005, Wales & West Utilities have recruited more than 140 apprentices and 11 graduates and now that the programme is open for 2017, the company is urging those who think they have what it takes to apply for a place on the coveted scheme.
