Darryl Goddard, Wales & West Utilities Area Engineering Manager for South West England

"We have been working in the Topsham Road area to repair a gas leak caused by a water company damaging our network.

"This was a complex job in very difficult weather conditions, but we are pleased to say that we have finished our work and completed the repair. We have now handed the site back to the water company who will need to finish their work before they can reopen the road.

"We would like to thank members of the public for their patience while we completed our work.

"Wales & West Utilities has a team of more than 900 trained and experienced engineers to help serve the 7.5m people across Wales and the south west of England that rely on its gas emergency and pipeline services. If anyone smells gas, thinks they have a gas leak, or suspects carbon monoxide poisoning, they should call us on 0800 111 999 and our engineers will be there to help, day or night."
